IHAS 5000 SYSTEM NEW (IHAS5000) |
Description:
Integrated Hazard Awareness System
Data from the GPS or FMS, which includes details of the active flight plan, aircraft present position, track, velocity, etc., is superimposed on a moving map derived from the KMD850 internal cartographic database to provide position awareness. Weather avoidance information is available to the flight crew from an onboard weather radar sensor, the ART2000. IHAS 8000 supports radar, but IHAS 5000 does not. This is the only difference between the two systems. Traffic and terrain information cones from the KMH880, which provides both TAS and EGPWS capability in a single unit. The second sample system provides an alternate configuration that employs separate processors for traffic (KTA870) and terrain (KGP-560 or MKVI EGPWS).
